Job summary

Vermeer Midwest is seeking a Service Writer in Goodfield, IL to initiate service and repair activities, verify warranty coverage, and write repair orders. The role involves coordinating with technicians, managing estimates, and maintaining customer rapport and records to ensure smooth invoice processing.

The position requires strong attention to detail, four years of related experience, forklift capability, and proficiency with CDK and Microsoft Office. It is an on-site role with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least four (4) years of experience in vehicle/construction equipment or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong technical knowledge.
• A high degree of attention to detail on all best practices and procedures, and deadline driven.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely per policy.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency with CDK, Microsoft Office, and internet functions.
• Effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Assign jobs and work areas to Service Technicians according to their skills and knowledge.
• Schedule service calls for Road Service Technicians based on skill levels and economical practices.
• Seek customer feedback and communicate status of machines to customers.
• Review repair orders for accuracy and authorize equipment release for pickup.
• Report customer complaints to the Service Manager.
• Meet with the Service Manager to review performance and department matters.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment sold within the dealership area.
• Participate in department communications and meetings.
