Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Service Writer in Stamford to handle service and maintenance administrative duties, including work orders, time reporting, warranty processing, PM scheduling, and invoicing.

The role requires attention to detail, strong customer service, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. You will maintain equipment files, code invoices correctly, and respond to customer inquiries while keeping management informed with service bulletins and information.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in a shop or service environment.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete Work Orders, opening/closing with accurate information.
• Report technician time accurately and timely.
• Submit and monitor warranty claims to closure.
• Run Preventive Maintenance reports and schedule work.
• Maintain equipment files and proper GL coding on invoices.
• Handle customer inquiries and inform service management of bulletins.
• Other duties as needed.

These duties include but are not limited to work order completion, technician time tracking, warranty recovery and preventive maintenance currency.
