Job summary

Ohio CAT is looking for a Service Utility to perform general duties around the shop and yard, including pressure washing equipment and assisting the Serviceman with mechanical tasks, project management service, pre-delivery inspection, and equipment operation in the yard.

You will also clean mechanical parts, prepare accurate service reports, and contribute to a safe, efficient work environment. This role offers hands-on training and team collaboration in a heavy equipment setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of general mechanical experience required or must have mechanical education without mechanical work experience.
• Knowledge and/or experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment desired.
• Basic knowledge of Caterpillar equipment, engines, and diagnostic tools.

JOB SUMMARY:

The individual in this position will perform various general duties around the shop and yard. Service Utility will pressure wash equipment and assist the Serviceman with mechanical tasks, project management service, pre-delivery inspection, and equipment operation in and around the yard environment. This individual will also clean mechanical parts and components and accurately complete service reports.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of general mechanical experience required or must have mechanical education without mechanical work experience.
• Knowledge and/or experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment desired.
• Basic knowledge of the application, operation, and function of Caterpillar equipment, engines, and diagnostic tools.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

• Effective reading and writing skills are necessary.
• Must have a solid mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills needed, including the use of Microsoft applications.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling. Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines. Dexterity Normal. Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
