Job description

We are seeking a Service/Test Technician for a testing systems/equipment manufacturing company located in Acton, MA. This role is responsible for setting up, conducting, and troubleshooting tests on testing equipment with a focus on refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical systems, ensuring equipment quality and performance. This is a DIRECT HIRE position.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Competent with computers, including Google Suites (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies (preferred)
  • Knowledge of test standards (ASTM, IEC, ISO, MIL-STD) (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Start up, troubleshoot, and perform tests on our standard product line, including calibration and operation of refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with systems, making necessary adjustments or repairs
  • Perform basic final assembly work
  • Ensure products meet quality and performance standards
  • Implement and improve procedures
  • Gather and document pertinent data on the performance of products and prototypes
  • Maintain standards for product testing and inspection as part of the overall quality standard
  • Participate in a team environment to develop and design new and existing products
  • Implement and participate in Lean and 5S processes and projects
  • Work closely with the engineering and quality teams to improve overall product quality.

  • Previous experience with HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, and electrical systems
  • Previous experience in a test or service technician role, preferably in a manufacturing or commercial environment (preferred)
