Job summary

Nebraska Harvest Center Inc. in Ogallala, NE, is seeking a Field Service Technician to service CLAAS machinery in the field, shop, or at customer locations.

You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and perform failure analyses on engines, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, and computer systems, using service manuals and parts catalogs. This full-time role requires a diesel tech school degree or equivalent, 2+ years of field service experience, and a valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• Diesel Tech School Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years’ experience in a field service technician role, preferred.
• Must provide personal tools for position.
• Working knowledge of CLAAS parts is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret parts and machine schematics.
• Ability to travel within region with limited supervision.

• Uses SIS to order parts, troubleshoot machine systems and research problems.
• Machinery Inspection

• Adheres to established company values, practices, policies and procedures; complies with safety rules and standards.
• Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

Your Role On Our Team The Field Service Technician repairs machines to the customer’s satisfaction in the field, shop or customers location. Removes, installs, repairs, disassembles, assembles, performs failure analyses of all CLAAS equipment including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, power train, brakes, steering, electronic and computer applications, heating and air conditioning (HVAC).

• Troubleshoots and repairs customer machines at customer jobsites.
• Uses SIS to order parts, troubleshoot machine systems and research problems.

• Uses laptop to enter labor, fill out service reports, and complete warranty reports.
• Uses service manuals and parts books to look up specs and parts for repairs.
• Adheres to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follows and supports compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations and standards.
• Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

Note: This position includes frequent travel by auto; valid driver’s license with a verifiably safe driving history is required. May require overnight travel and weekend or evening work.

Your Profile

• Diesel Tech School Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years’ experience in a field service technician role, preferred.
• Prior experience in troubleshooting methods and tools required.
• Must provide personal tools for position
• Working knowledge of CLAAS parts, a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret parts and machine schematics.
• Ability to travel within region and to be able to work with limited supervision.
• Must be self-sufficient with a proven ability to work independently and a strong willingness to learn.
• Must be able to maintain professionalism at all times.
• Farm background desirable.
• Ability to safely operate large machinery.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and handle a high volume workload in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail.
