Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a skilled Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair equipment in the Charlotte metro area, serving as the face of the company in the field and ensuring top-notch service. The role emphasizes a strong mechanical aptitude, proactive problem solving, and customer satisfaction.

This on-site position requires reading schematics and manuals, performing diagnostics, and keeping detailed service logs while adhering to OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; associate degree or technical certification in a related trade (HVAC, electrical, mechanical) is a strong plus.
• 2+ years of experience as a field service technician, mechanic, or in a similar troubleshooting role.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• strong ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and mechanical blueprints.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites throughout the Charlotte metro area to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and emergency repairs on commercial/industrial equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic system malfunctions using diagnostic tools, schematics, and service manuals.
• Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
• Maintain accurate, detailed service logs, inventory records, and time-tracking reports via mobile field service software.
• Communicate technical issues clearly and professionally to clients, advising them on best practices, necessary upgrades, or safety hazards.
• Manage an inventory of spare parts and tools within a company-provided service vehicle, ensuring it remains fully stocked and organized.
• Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols, company guidelines, and site-specific safety requirements at all times.

Location: Charlotte, NC (and surrounding metro area) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary Range: $48,000 - $60,000 annually ($23.00 - $28.00/hour), depending on experience and specialized certifications. Top earners in specialized fields (e.g., HVAC, Industrial Automation) can earn upwards of $65,000 - $75,000 annually.
