Job summary

Bowser Automotive is seeking a motivated Service Technician to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and maintain vehicles in a fast-paced shop environment. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and up-to-date with automotive technology.

Essential duties include inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and communicating with service advisors. Pennsylvania license requirements and a valid driver's license are required to ensure high-quality workmanship and customer service.

Qualifications

• Required: valid Pa State Inspection & Emissions Licenses.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with good time management.
• Experience in automotive service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs.
• Test vehicle systems and components to ensure proper operation.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
• Perform maintenance services (oil changes, tires, brakes, tune-ups, etc.).
• Replace or repair worn parts and document repairs.
• Maintain repair orders and service documentation.
• Communicate repair needs with service advisors and management.
• Explain repairs to customers when needed.
• Follow safety policies and state regulations.

Bowser Automotive is looking for a motivated and experienced Service Technician to join our team. If you enjoy diagnosing problems, performing quality repairs, and working in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you. As a Service Technician, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain customer and dealership vehicles while delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional service. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to staying current with today's automotive technology.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs.
• Test vehicle systems and components to ensure proper operation.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Complete repairs efficiently and accurately while following manufacturer and dealership standards.
• Perform maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, tune-ups, suspension work, air conditioning service, engine repairs, and transmission service.
• Replace or repair worn, damaged, or defective parts.
• Complete multi-point inspections and document repair recommendations.
• Maintain accurate repair orders and service documentation.
• Communicate repair needs with Service Advisors and Service Management.
• Explain vehicle concerns or repair recommendations to customers when necessary.
• Maintain current Pennsylvania State Inspection and Emissions licenses and complete all required manufacturer and dealership training.
• Follow all OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
• Adhere to all Bowser Automotive safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive technician experience preferred.
• Valid Pennsylvania State Inspection and Emissions Licenses.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout an 8-hour workday.
• Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work in a shop environment with varying temperatures.
