Mark-Taylor in Tempe, AZ is hiring a Service Technician to keep our communities running smoothly by handling maintenance repairs and upkeep, while delivering five-star service.

The role focuses on make-ready units, troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems, with on-call rotation and opportunities for certifications pay and growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• General knowledge in Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards
• Knowledge of building systems
• Service orientation
• Basic computer skills
• Experience as apartment turn/make-ready/work order technician is desirable
• Basic written and spoken English proficiency

Responsibilities

• Assist in the completion of make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community
• Troubleshoot and repair minor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and drywall issues
• Perform routine maintenance on vacant units as they become available
• Perform daily pool care and ensure chemical balance and safety
• Inspect property for safety hazards and communicate with Facilities Manager
• Share on-call duties and attend property in uniform
• Monitor inventory of parts and cleaning supplies

Compensation:

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00/hour.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

Requirements

• General knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards
• Knowledge of building systems
• Service orientation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience as apartment turn technician, make ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

In This Role You Will:

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
