Mid-America Apartment Communities, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Apartment Maintenance Technician in Richmond, VA to keep apartments and common areas in optimal condition.

You will diagnose and repair HVAC systems, appliances, plumbing, and electrical fixtures while maintaining safety standards and customer service. The role requires 1–3 years in maintenance, EPA Type II or EPA Universal certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days), and a valid VA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• One to three years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair
• HVAC experience required
• EPA Type II or EPA Universal required at hire or within 90 days of start date
• Valid driver’s license from the state of residence

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair to keep apartments and facilities in good condition.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC units, electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures.
• Handle plumbing, carpentry, and locks repairs.
• Follow a preventative maintenance schedule and follow up with residents after repairs.

Apartment Maintenance Technician

The Apartment Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repair to ensure apartment homes and other property facilities are in good working order. Responsibilities include preparing apartments for move-in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units; electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures; plumbing, carpentry, and locks. The Apartment Maintenance Technician follows a planned preventative maintenance schedule and follows up with residents after repairs are complete.
