Position Summary

As a Vanderlande Service Technician III, you will be responsible for preparing, executing, and reporting on maintenance activities, as well as troubleshooting errors within customer material handling systems.

Essential Functions

1. Identify causes of faults in Low-Level and High-Level Controls systems and collaborate with Controls Helpdesks to resolve them.
2. Perform daily maintenance activities.
3. Monitor equipment condition daily.
4. Follow procedures outlined in the Organization’s SQE Management System.
5. Identify and rectify equipment failures.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Resolve complex errors in ACP systems.
2. Perform preventive maintenance (electrical and mechanical).
3. Report maintenance activities.
4. Conduct inspections.
5. Analyze system errors.
6. Replace machine spare parts.
7. Report issues and maintenance needs.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Experience supporting automated systems with strong electro-mechanical skills.
• Electrical fault-finding and fault rectification, including replacing and configuring field devices (inverters, sensors, scanners, etc.).
• Mechanical fault-finding and rectification skills (gearboxes, bearings, sprockets, drives, etc.).
• Experience with electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency with standard electrical testing instruments.
• Relevant vocational or technical qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Warehouse operations experience.
• Conveyor or material handling services experience.
• Service-mindedness, accuracy, initiative, prioritization skills, teamwork, willingness to learn, and stress resistance.

Work Details

This is a full-time position supporting a 24/7 operation, Sunday through Thursday, 2nd shift: 3:15 pm - 12:00 am.

Occasional travel within North America is required.

No supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Employees will sit, handle, feel, talk, hear, reach, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally is required. Work may involve exposure to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic equipment, loud noise, vibration, and packages or conveyor systems. Ear protection is recommended.
