Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a Service Technician to repair, service and build standard and custom hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems. You will disassemble, inspect, diagnose, and repair components, then assemble and test equipment for shipment or storage.

The role requires reading hydraulic schematics, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team. A high school diploma or GED is typically required, and valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is expected.
• Ability to operate shop equipment safely and work with or without supervision.
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, and inspect system components for repair.
• Diagnose components and propose solutions to customers.
• Prepare job forms listing parts and steps to perform repairs.
• Design, fabricate, machine, and weld parts as needed.
• Repair hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Assemble new or repaired equipment.
• Test repaired equipment and prepare for shipment or storage.
• Assist customers by answering technical questions.
• Provide quotes or take customer orders when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform maintenance on assigned customer products.
