Job summary

Valley Plains Equipment is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose and repair agricultural and turf equipment, and to provide in-field service as needed. You will collaborate with a Service Manager and senior technicians to support customers.

Responsibilities include keeping equipment and tools in top condition, completing paperwork precisely, and maintaining safety standards. Prior experience and a valid driver’s license are required, with certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in repair of agricultural and turf equipment.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks using specialized tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
• Familiarity with Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
• Capability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience performing service repairs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs to enhance skills.
• Initiate self-training opportunities with tools and provided resources by the dealership.
• Stay updated on existing products and pursue additional knowledge through training programs.
• Diagnose and support machine systems, including Precision Ag technology.
• Maintain the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure a clean and organized work area and perform tasks neatly.
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations during work assignments.
• Complete required paperwork and forms using ExpertServices accurately and on time.
• Track time accurately on a timecard and account for all materials used.
• Deliver excellent customer service and uphold a positive dealer image.

Position Summary

Performance Requirements:

• Meet or exceed effective labor rate goal ~ targeting $160.
• Maintain a minimum 85% labor performance.
• Dedicate a minimum of 1 hour per week to work alongside a mentor.
• Actively complete and stay up to date on all assigned training.

Compensation

The following represents Brandt Holdings compensation estimation based on market data and placement of internal employees. This is ahourly role with a starting base of $20.00 and going up to $42.00 based on experience. This role is also incentive eligible and is based on performance.
