Qualifications

Position Summary: The Service Technician assists with oversight of physical assets and ensures customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include diagnosing problems, making repairs, assisting with apartment make-readies, preventive maintenance, and participating in construction or rehabilitation projects. The role requires a strong commitment to customer service and professionalism.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Use industry-specific technology to complete repairs and replacements timely, restoring units to move-in ready condition.
  • Complete maintenance requests, including exterior grounds and common areas, troubleshooting HVAC, and assisting with make-readies.
  • Identify and report hazardous community conditions to management.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs are followed and documented.
  • Maintain property-issued tools responsibly.
  • Post notices and communicate with residents as needed.
  • Share on-call responsibilities and respond to resident requests per standards.
  • Comply with OSHA and other safety regulations, and understand relevant codes and policies.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
  • Six months to one year of general maintenance and safety experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Manual, task-oriented work under supervision.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems.
  • Own industry-specific hand tools.
Work Schedule & Physical Requirements:

Monday-Friday, with possible overtime and on-call duties. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, full range of motion, ability to work with hands, and exposure to weather conditions.
