Job summary

Nebraska Ag Connection is seeking a Field Service Technician to service CLAAS equipment at customer sites or in the shop. You will diagnose, repair, and assemble components, engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, and document work with service reports.

Frequent regional travel is required. You must provide your own tools and be able to read schematics. A Diesel Tech background or equivalent experience is preferred, with strong customer service and independent work abilities.

Qualifications

• Diesel tech training or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2+ years in field service technician role.
• Must provide personal tools for position.
• Ability to read and interpret parts and machine schematics.
• Willingness to travel region and work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs customer machines at customer jobsites.
• Uses SIS to order parts, troubleshoot machine systems and research problems.
• Machinery Inspection and Set-Up/Adjustment.
• Enter labor and complete service and warranty reports.
• Use service manuals and parts books to look up specs and parts for repairs.
• Adhere to safety rules and company policies; maintain professionalism.

Job Description

The Field Service Technician repairs machines to the customer’s satisfaction in the field, shop or customers location. Removes, installs, repairs, disassembles, assembles, performs failure analyses of all CLAAS equipment including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, power train, brakes, steering, electronic and computer applications, heating and air conditioning (HVAC).

• Troubleshoots and repairs customer machines at customer jobsites.
• Uses SIS to order parts, troubleshoot machine systems and research problems.
• Machinery Inspection
• Machinery Set-Up and Adjustment
• Uses laptop to enter labor, fill out service reports, and complete warranty reports.
• Uses service manuals and parts books to look up specs and parts for repairs.
• Adheres to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follows and supports compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations and standards.
• Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

Note:This position includes frequent travel by auto; valid driver’s license with a verifiably safe driving history is required. May require overnight travel and weekend or evening work.

Your profile:

• Diesel Tech School Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years’ experience in a field service technician role, preferred.
• Prior experience in troubleshooting methods and tools required.
• Must provide personal tools for position
• Working knowledge of CLAAS parts, a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret parts and machine schematics.
• Ability to travel within region and to be able to work with limited supervision.
• Must be self-sufficient with a proven ability to work independently and a strong willingness to learn.
• Must be able to maintain professionalism at all times.
• Farm background desirable.
• Ability to safely operate large machinery.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and handle a high volume workload in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail.
