Job summary

Ferrellgas is seeking a Service Technician Apprentice in Eau Claire, WI to learn how to install tanks, troubleshoot equipment, and handle service calls with experienced techs. Upon completing the program, you’ll move into a full Service Technician role with license endorsements provided at no cost.

You’ll join a team that serves local customers, enjoying benefits and hands-on training that builds safety, technical skills, and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Willingness to obtain CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
• Good driving record.
• Must be able to communicate in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• US work authorization; no sponsorship required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installations, repairs, and maintenance of propane equipment for retail customers.
• Learn to load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to destinations.
• Assist in inspecting vehicles and report needed maintenance.
• Prepare and maintain records; operate truck per safety procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service while informing customers of safety information.
• Train with team on call rotation for after-hours/weekend deliveries.
• Possible Bobtail driving based on business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• May work on propane appliances as needed.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, assist in installations, repairs, and maintains propane equipment for retail customers.
• Develops knowledge and trains on how to load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to and from specified destinations.
• Assists in inspecting vehicles and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
• Under direct supervision, assists in preparing and maintaining records in accordance with regulations and company procedures. Operates truck in accordance to established safety procedures.
• Under direct supervision, during daily interaction with customers provides exceptional customer service by supplying service/safety information and answering inquires.
• Will be required to train with team members who are working on call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response as needed.
• Once qualified, may be required to drive a Bobtail truck base on business needs and/or On Call rotation
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Under direct supervision, may work on propane appliances when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to obtain Commercial driver’s license (Class A or B) with hazmat and tanker endorsement if not currently obtained
• Good driving record
• Proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding the English language.
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A or B license with hazmat and tanker endorsement preferred.
• Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
• Applicants must not now, or any time in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.
