Job summary

Ferrellgas is seeking a Service Technician Apprentice to learn the trade alongside experienced technicians. You will train to install tanks safely, troubleshoot equipment, and handle service calls with confidence, with the goal of becoming a full Service Technician.

The program supports earning licenses and endorsements at no cost to you. You will join a team dedicated to safety, customer service, and local routes that keep you home each night, with benefits including health coverage and growth

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to obtain CDL Class A/B with hazmat and tanker endorsement if not currently held.
• Good driving record and safe driving practices.
• Proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installations, repairs, and maintenance of propane equipment for retail customers under supervision.
• Learn to load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to destinations.
• Assist in inspecting vehicles and notifying supervisor of needed maintenance or supplies.
• Prepare and maintain records per regulations and company procedures; operate truck safely.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, assist in installations, repairs, and maintains propane equipment for retail customers.
• Develops knowledge and trains on how to load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to and from specified destinations.
• Assists in inspecting vehicles and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
• Under direct supervision, assists in preparing and maintaining records in accordance with regulations and company procedures. Operates truck in accordance to established safety procedures.
• Under direct supervision, during daily interaction with customers provides exceptional customer service by supplying service/safety information and answering inquires.
• Will be required to train with team members who are working on call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response as needed.
• Once qualified, may be required to drive a Bobtail truck base on business needs and/or “On Call” rotation
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Under direct supervision, may work on propane appliances when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to obtain Commercial driver’s license (Class A or B) with hazmat and tanker endorsement if not currently obtained
• Good driving record
• Proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding the English language.
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A or B license with hazmat and tanker endorsement preferred.
• Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
• Applicants must not now, or any time in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.
