Job Title: Field Service Technician III

Location: Nationwide Travel (95% travel required)

Job Type: Full-Time | Estimated 60 hours/week

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician III to join our team in supporting field service projects across the United States. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage electrical equipment including transformers, controls, and associated components. The ideal candidate will have advanced troubleshooting skills, a strong mechanical/electrical background, and the ability to work independently in dynamic field environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical tasks related to the assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across at least 3 of the following technical competencies:
• Transformer Assembly
• Electrical Testing
• Controls
• Load Tap Changers (LTCs)
• Oil Processing
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
• Compose detailed Field Reports and Daily Activity Reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Operate heavy machinery and adhere strictly to safety procedures and protocols.
• Represent the company professionally at job sites and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
  
  
  

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant field service or utility experience, OR post-secondary technical education in a related field.
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand/power tools.
• Advanced computer and report-writing skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel up to 95% (air and ground).
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with transformer installation or maintenance.
• Utility or power generation/distribution background.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in high-voltage equipment.
  
  
  

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 90% of shift).
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Travel frequently across the U.S. for up to 60 hours per week.
