Job summary

Lonestar Truck Group is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to diagnose and repair Class 5 through Class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company policies. The role emphasizes accurate repairs, safety, and efficient service in acustomer-focused environment.

The candidate will punch in and out of the job costing system, notify the shop foreman of potential issues, and maintain vehicle cleanliness while working. We value teamwork, safety, and ongoing training.

Purpose of Position: Performs maintenance and repairs on Class 5 through Class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company policies.

Essential Job Functions:

• Diagnose and repair assigned vehicles in an accurate and timely manner.
• Verify repair is complete and fixes original customer complaint.
• Notify shop foreman of other potential issues associated with vehicle.
• Punches in and out of job costing program to ensure accurate time billed to customer.
• Mindful of maintaining customer’s vehicle cleanliness at all times while working on vehicle.
• Works to achieve company efficiency standards.
• Ensures warranty parts are returned to proper department for processing.
• Follows all established OSHA and company safety protocol to include keeping work station neat, clean, and free of debris.

Required Skills/ Abilities:

• Verbal and written communication to include simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Basic computer use and navigation skills.
• Knowledge of Heavy Duty/ Medium repair techniques.
• Ability to learn company standards, warranty procedures, and vehicle policies.
• Customer Service focused.

Preferred Education:

• Associate’s degree from a two year college or trade school.

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months Heavy Duty/ Medium Duty repair work.
