Role Description

The Service Technician role is a full-time hybrid position based in Shelby Township, MI, with some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the Service Technician will install, maintain, and repair Haeger hardware insertion machines, both at customer sites and remotely. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, performing preventive maintenance, and completing accurate service documentation. The Service Technician will provide field service support, train customers on proper machine operation and care, and collaborate with engineering and technical support teams to resolve complex issues. This position also requires strong customer-facing skills to ensure a positive service experience and support long-term customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Maintenance & Repair, Maintenance skills for industrial or manufacturing equipment, including preventive and corrective service.
• Troubleshooting skills for mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical control systems.
• Field Service experience, including on-site installations, start-ups, and service visits at customer facilities.
• Customer Service skills for clear communication, user training, and professional interaction with production and engineering personnel.
• Technical aptitude with the ability to read schematics and service manuals; familiarity with CNC or automation equipment is beneficial.
• Ability to work safely, follow established procedures, and comply with company and customer safety standards.
• Strong organizational skills for managing service schedules, documentation, and reporting.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally; occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Relevant vocational training or technical degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
