Summary:The Equipment Service Technician role is responsible for providing repair services on pumps, portable and stationary compressors, drives as well as accessory equipment.

Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, service and repair on air compressors, pumps and associate equipment
  • Oversee and/or install related equipment and systems at customer locations
  • Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and or system failures
  • Educate customers on proper start-up procedures and maintenance intervals along with potential spare parts requirements
  • Maintain continuity between the customer and the company during and after installations to ensure proper application, and operations of systems and equipment
  • Provide the required tools and diagnostic equipment necessary to perform job assignments
  • Insure the proper use, maintenance, and safety of all company vehicles and equipment
  • Attend relevant training session and maintain appropriate required levels of certifications
  • Administrative responsibilities include the documenting of labor hours and equipment data on a daily basis.
  • Any other relevant duties that may be assigned

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Position requires excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • a minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders along with communicating ideas and suggestions both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to complete basic math skills, which include adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplications

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Sitting (Working at a desk) - up to 33%
  • Standing – up to 33%
  • Walking - up to 33%
  • Lifting - up to 50 lbs. with good body mechanics (lifting devices are used for heavier loads)
  • Moderate deviations of the wrists 1-960 hand or wrist repetitions/day
  • Word processing (use of computer keyboard)
  • Frequent use of both hands
  • Very accurate near vision (20/20); accurate far vision (20/40)
  • Minimal color discrimination and depth perception
  • The ability to hear a whispered voice at 3 feet
  • Exposure to moderate, steady and fairly loud noise, below 85db
  • The ability to work in 80-90°F temperatures during the summer
  • May be exposed to slippery work surfaces (up to 3 hrs./day
