Job summary

Berkshire Apartments in Richmond, VA is seeking a Service Technician to maintain apartment homes, complete work orders, turnovers, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances. This full-time on-site role supports residents and keeps common areas and pool facilities in top condition.

You will join a team that values reliability and hands-on skills, with on-call hours as needed. Candidates should have at least 2 years of residential maintenance experience, CFC and HVAC

Qualifications

• 2 years of maintenance experience in a residential community or similar field.
• CFC and HVAC certifications are required.
• Strong background in plumbing, electrical systems, and general apartment maintenance.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel between properties.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Complete apartment work orders and turnovers promptly.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.

What You’ll Do:

As a Service Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance of the Berkshire property. Your hands‑on expertise will cover everything from completing apartment work orders and turnovers to performing repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances. You'll also be responsible for maintaining common areas, property buildings, and pool areas, contributing to the overall upkeep of the community.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing apartment work orders and turnovers promptly

• Assisting with the upkeep of common areas, property buildings, and pool maintenance
• Demonstrating exceptional customer service in all interactions with residents and staff
• Working with the team to ensure all maintenance tasks are handled efficiently and professionally
• Responding to emergency maintenance requests as needed
• Managing daily checklists, occasional tasks, and troubleshooting unexpected issues

What We’re Looking For:
