Qualifications

  • Must have own tools - must include necessary sizes for repairs.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems is required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes and lubrication.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures promptly.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Operate diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting.
  • Ensure work complies with safety standards and company policies.
  • Communicate status and recommendations with supervisors and operators.
  • Assist with field repairs and service calls as needed.

Position Overview

This position will require you to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, track loaders, tracked mulchers, skid steers, chippers, grinders and other diesel-powered machinery. It requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to minimize equipment downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems on heavy construction equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and part replacement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Operate diagnostic tools and software for equipment troubleshooting.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Communicate equipment status and repair recommendations with supervisors and operators.
  • Assist with field repairs and service calls as needed.
Qualifications
  • Must have your own tools - (Mandatory tools) 1/4 ”, 3/8 ” and 1/2 ” drive sets, wrench sets (1/4 ”‑2 ”, 8 mm‑24 mm), electrical troubleshoot tools, hammers, pry bars, basic pliers and screwdriver sets.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or trade school certification preferred).
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills for service reports and parts lookup.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working on the brands of equipment we carry or similar machines.
  • Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
  • Electrical trouble shooting experience.
