Service Technician

What You’ll Do

GreenPower Motor Company is seeking a Service Technician responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining vehicle production according to safety and maintenance standards. The role requires technical skills and high-level customer service, with a focus on automotive repair for medium to heavy-duty vehicles. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented self-starter with critical thinking and implementation skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment.

  • Maintain professionalism and positive rapport with customers
  • Install, repair, and maintain vehicle components
  • Provide emergency and scheduled repairs
  • Perform machinist duties as needed
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to reduce customer impact
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and operational issues
  • Handle vehicle warranty repairs following manufacturer guidelines
  • Analyze and report service gaps affecting customers
  • Keep detailed records and reports
  • Read and interpret manuals and work orders
  • Use hand and power tools, meters, and handling equipment
  • Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean workspace
  • Comply with legal requirements for auto repair and consumer protection
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

The role is physically active, involving standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and lifting/moving items over 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Working Environment

  • Up to 20% travel, possibly outside local area and overnight
  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noise
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Physical demands are essential for job performance
