The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis seeks a Service Technician I for the Facilities Management Department’s Maintenance Team.

This entry-level maintenance position works individually and as part of a team servicing or repairing building equipment and systems including but not limited to fire alarm and monitoring systems, X-ray units, security portals, automated and overhead doors, magnetometers, vehicle barriers, and automated material handling system equipment such as AGVs and SRVs.

This position also involves maintenance of Bank-owned vehicles, metal fabrication, low voltage cabling, gun range equipment, and small engines. Additionally, it assists with the operation and monitoring of diesel generators and electrical switchgear.

This is a first shift, 5 days per week onsite position, with occasional weekends or shifts outside regular schedules. On-call coverage may also be required.

Job Summary:

  1. Maintain, repair, install, calibrate, program, and commission Bank systems and equipment, including life safety, fire suppression, switchgear, generators, automated guided vehicles, security systems, and more.
  2. Utilize tools and software for mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic repairs.
  3. Use specialized and standard computer applications; knowledge of PLC programming is required.
  4. Perform welding for steel fabrication and repairs.
  5. Purchase supplies and maintain documentation of facility changes.
  6. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Vocational school graduate or equivalent experience in controls, robotics, electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, electronics, or related fields.
  2. Completion of a technical program with emphasis on systems controls, troubleshooting, and programming.
  3. Entry-level experience preferred; some prior experience is a plus.
  4. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs., work on ladders, and in confined spaces.

Additional Information:

  1. Salary range: $50,200–$75,300, based on experience and qualifications.
  2. Onsite work required; 5 days a week, with occasional weekends and on-call coverage.
