Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 4:30PM

Pay

Starting Pay $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, plus a $3,000 Sign‑On Bonus.

Job Overview

The Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand's Compression Systems and Services Division serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with compressed air system components. The technician uses precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting and has knowledge of equipment manuals and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers and co‑workers.
  • Provide technical assistance on equipment pre‑commissioning, start‑ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems, performing hands‑on work to ensure equipment meets customer requirements with limited guidance from the Master Technician.
  • Increase customer awareness of Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits, and Leak Detection that benefit their operations.
Requirements
  • 2+ years experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
  • Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations.
  • Service technicians are required to be on‑call; initial 90 days no on‑call for schedule adjustment.
  • Highly physical; requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting/moving weights as per safety policy.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Core Competencies
  • Read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
  • Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).
  • Basic vibration troubleshooting.
  • Basic air quality (system compressor/dryer – air treatment).
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer usage; working proficiency with handheld computer and network bases.
  • Maintain proper business travel practices cost‑efficiently.
Preferences
  • 2+ years industrial air compressor maintenance & knowledge.
  • Degree program in Electrical/Electronic Technology or HVAC with knowledge of AC/DC circuits, wiring diagrams/schematics, motors/controls, PLCs, HVAC electricity, controls, refrigeration systems, or refrigerant certification/EPA Certification.
  • Veteran or Active‑Duty Military encouraged to apply.
Travel & Work Arrangements
  • Travel daily within a 3‑hour radius of the service area.
  • Occasional travel for training (1–2 times per year, one week each).
  • Company vehicle and fuel card provided.
