Southern Scales is seeking a Service Technician in Metairie, Louisiana, to install, inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical and electronic weighing systems. The ideal candidate will have technical experience in mechanical and electrical fields, and the role requires working independently and as part of a team.

This position entails the installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic scales and weighing systems along with peripheral devices such as computers and software, printers, packaging machines, vacuum pack machines, etc. Service Technicians work alone or in teams and in diverse settings, such as commercial, and industrial to test, diagnose, repair, overhaul, and execute scale system repairs while ensuring customer satisfaction. Such individuals require having a sound understanding of all company and customer safety requirements and industry standards along with scale terminology and the specifications, tolerances, and other technical requirements for weighing and measuring devices as describe in NIST Handbook 44. Prior service technician experience in mechanical, electrical, and electronic fields desired. TWIC card, safety certifications, and CDL a major plus for interested candidates.
