Job summary

ENVEA in Longmont, CO is seeking a full-time Service Technician to troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair laser-based optomechanical instruments for customers at the manufacturing facility and on-site.

You will interpret drawings and schematics, perform QA activities, travel up to 10% domestically, and collaborate with the Business Development team to provide training and technical support. 2–6 years of related experience preferred; US work authorization required.

To support our continued growth, we are seeking a full-time Service Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for the active troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of new and existing customer equipment. Due to the nature and the variety of activities, we seek a diligent, dedicated, and meticulous person. The successful individual must plan their work schedule to meet the on-time production and service goals, keep multiple records, be self-motivated, coordinate work with others in a team environment, maintain a professional presence, and have the desire to take ownership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform troubleshooting, calibration, quality assurance, and quality control activities on both newly manufactured and legacy laser-based optomechanical instruments to support production schedules and ensure product quality.
• Provide technical support to customers by diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and recalibrating laser-based optomechanical instrumentation both remotely and on-site at the manufacturing facility.
• Assist in the design, development, testing, and documentation of instrumentation, including test procedures, wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, and technical specifications.
• Partner with the Business Development team to deliver customer training, technical guidance, and application support for ENVEA instrumentation and solutions.
• Safely handle, move, and position equipment and materials as required, including lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Travel domestically up to 10% of the time to support customer installations, service activities, training sessions, and other business needs.

Qualification:

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

• Related technical discipline, with 2 to 6 years of relevant industry experience.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical, electromechanical, and mechanical system issues at the component level.
• Proficiency in interpreting and working from mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately follow established procedures, specifications, and quality standards.
• Hands‑on experience using electronic test and measurement equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and related diagnostic tools.
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively and provide professional support to internal and external customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 10% of the time, to support customer needs, training, installations, and service activities.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience working with laser-based, optical, analytical, or scientific instrumentation.
• Familiarity with calibration processes, quality control procedures, and manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting customers in a technical, field service, or applications engineering capacity.
• Knowledge of gas analysis, environmental monitoring, industrial automation, or process instrumentation is a plus.

Base Compensation Range: $36.00 – $38.00 per hour
