An associate degree in Electronics Technology and 5+ years of relevant experience are required, along with IPC, MIL-STD certifications being a plus.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in electronic repair and service, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability environments.
  • IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or similar certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience with ruggedized systems, environmental testing, or field service is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

Calculex is seeking a highly experienced and technically adept Senior Repair & Service Technician to support the diagnosis, repair, and refurbishment of complex electronic systems used in aerospace and defense applications. This role is essential in ensuring the continued performance and reliability of fielded systems through expert-level troubleshooting, component‑level repair, and customer‑focused service support.

Scope of Responsibility
Core Objectives
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on returned or fielded units.
  • Ensure all service activities meet quality, documentation, and turnaround time standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies and systems to the component level using schematics, test procedures, and diagnostic tools.
  • Perform functional and environmental testing to verify repairs and ensure compliance with original specifications.
  • Document repair actions, test results, and root cause findings in accordance with quality and traceability requirements.
  • Interface with Engineering, Quality, and Customer Support teams to resolve recurring issues and improve product reliability.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment and service tools.
  • Support field returns (RMAs), warranty evaluations, and customer service inquiries.
  • Assist in training junior technicians and developing repair procedures and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD handling, safety protocols, and cleanroom standards as applicable.
Essential Skills
  • Strong knowledge of analog/digital electronics, circuit diagnostics, and soldering/rework techniques.
  • Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and power supplies.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with aerospace and defense standards (e.g., IPC, MIL‑STD, AS9100).
  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills.
Experience and Education
  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent military/technical training.
  • 5+ years of experience in electronic repair and service, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high‑reliability environments.
  • IPC‑A‑610, J‑STD‑001, or similar certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience with ruggedized systems, environmental testing, or field service is a plus.
