Job summary

Cochran Automotive invites you to join its winning team in Johnstown as an automotive service technician. Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles, test components with diagnostic tools, and ensure work meets dealership and manufacturer standards.

We hire professionals with automotive experience but welcome trainees; ASE certifications are ideal, and PA state inspections and emissions licenses are a big plus.

Qualifications

• Prior automotive service experience required or welcomed for training
• ASE certifications are ideal
• PA state inspection and emissions licenses are a big plus
• Solid teamwork and ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards
• Test-drive vehicles and test components using diagnostic tools and equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, AC)
• Communicate with Service Advisor about needed additional work and time estimates

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.

Requirements

• We hire professionals with previous automotive service experience, but we LOVE to train and develop new technicians
• ASE certifications are ideal
• PA state inspection and emissions licenses a huge plus
• Strong automotive background with experience working flat-rate
• Strong teamwork skills
• Candidate should have tools necessary for the duties of the position
