Job Title: Modification Technician

Department: Warranty

Reports to: Warranty Manager

Classification: Full-time/part-time/as needed, Remote, Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

The Modification Technician is responsible for performing crane modifications for customers and distributors. This position is based remotely, but heavy domestic travel is involved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performing Tadano issued modifications for Customers and Distributors.
2. Installation, testing, and troubleshooting of components on cranes.
3. Work with high and low voltage batteries and management systems.
4. Perform complete inspections in accordance with standard industry practices, specifications, and factory guidelines.
5. Complete necessary paperwork of service provided, including service reports, warranty reports, time sheets, parts requests, and expense reports.
6. Perform other labor as needed to maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient work environment.
7. May perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
8. Actively work for constant improvement through more efficient and less expensive ways to carry out different work processes.
9. Report irregular issues and problems to management for a solution.
10. Maintain good communication with other managers, staff, and outside contacts.
11. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
12. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
13. Maintain high ethical standards in the workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical diploma from college or technical school or equivalent alternative education/experience with 6-8+ years of experience. Relevant technical certificate is a plus. Mechanical and electrical skills. Proven knowledge of electrical systems including LIN, CAN, 12v and 24v systems. Ability to diagnose problems with equipment. Proficient with the use of mechanical and electrical diagnosing equipment to perform service work. Ability to read and interpret electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic schemes. Ability to read and understand technical drawings. Ability to communicate technical errors to non-technical people. Ability to travel and work according to a changing schedule.

6. Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds at times. Some resources available.
7. Must be able to travel for prolonged times.
8. Will use hand tools and dexterity in the hands is required.
