Job summary

VetJobs in Missouri seeks a field service technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on material handling equipment, including forklifts and cranes, at Hiab locations. You will ensure compliance with safety standards and contribute to customer satisfaction through timely, accurate service reports.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical experience, holds a valid driver's license and a DOT medical card, and owns tools.

Qualifications

• DOT medical card required for the position.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations.
• Own tools required.
• Know, understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. operating and technical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and service equipment (forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders, liftgates, hooklifts, skiploaders and hoists) per manager's instructions.
• Follow safety rules, practices and environmental requirements.
• Stay current with technical developments and complete courses when instructed by the District Service Manager.
• Respond to customer inquiries to maximize satisfaction and follow Hiab guidelines.
• Maintain records and submit daily reports as required.

Your mission

To perform service, (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment, at assigned Hiab locations in line with Manager’s instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on the following equipment: Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders & Hoists in line with Manager’s instructions
• Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
• Staying up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and completing technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager
• Respond to customer’s queries and concerns to maximize customer satisfaction & follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines
• Keep adequate records, maintain documentation & submit daily reports in the format specified by the District Service Manager
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager
• Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary
• Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System

What we are looking for

• Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required for this position
• Valid Driver’s License is required
• No more than one moving violation in the last year, or two violations within a two year time frame. All violations will be reviewed
• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• 3+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations
• Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Own tools required
• Know, understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
