Service Technician
Position Overview:
The Service Technician is a critical, customer-facing role responsible for servicing and maintaining home improvement products installed by Long Home. This role requires a strong working knowledge of bath remodeling and roofing systems, with the ability to diagnose and repair issues independently. You will visit customer homes, identify problems, perform repairs or adjustments, and ensure the customer experience reflects our high standards of excellence.
This is a field-based role that involves independent travel to client homes, hands-on work with a variety of products and tools, and regular communication with our internal service team.
Core Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Communication:
· Serve as a front-line representative of Long Home, delivering friendly, professional, and solution-oriented service during every customer interaction.
· Explain diagnoses, repair needs, and next steps to customers clearly and respectfully.
· Address customer concerns promptly and escalate issues as needed to ensure full resolution.
Technical Service & Repairs:
· Conduct thorough inspections of bathroom installations (e.g., tubs, showers, walls, plumbing components) and roofing systems to assess service needs.
· Perform adjustments, replacements, and minor repairs on a range of products in accordance with manufacturer standards and company guidelines.
· Troubleshoot mechanical, water intrusion, cosmetic, and structural issues related to installed products.
· Ensure all work is completed safely, cleanly, and up to code.
Measurement & Documentation
· Accurately measure customer spaces for parts replacements or warranty claims.
· Complete digital service reports, warranty paperwork, purchase orders, and other necessary documentation.
· Use internal CRM software to log visits, schedule follow-up appointments, and request parts in coordination with the Service Coordination team.
Coordination & Field Operations
· Maintain communication with dispatch and support teams throughout the workday.
· Ensure all tools, materials, and company vehicle are properly maintained and stocked.
· Operate within OSHA safety standards and company safety policies at all times.
Required Qualifications:
· 3+ years of hands-on experience in residential construction or home improvement(Bathrooms required, Roofing is a plus)
· Proficient with hand and power tools, mechanical troubleshooting, and field diagnostics.
· High school diploma or GED
· Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
· Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. regularly, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and perform physical labor in indoor and outdoor environments
· Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
· Tech-savvy with experience using tablets or mobile apps for job tracking and communication
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of:
· Acrylic wall systems, tub/shower installs, plumbing seals and adhesives
· Asphalt shingle roofing systems and ventilation
· Window/door installation and service techniques
· Familiarity with CRM tools or service management software
· Prior experience with home remodeling companies or subcontractor service work
