Job summary

Serra Automotive Group is seeking a Service Technician to join our team in Cullman, AL. The ideal candidate will have a strong service technician background and ASE certification, with the ability to perform diagnostics, engine and electrical repairs, and warranty work according to manufacturer specifications.

You will test-drive vehicles, collaborate with Service Advisors, and deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a high standard of workmanship in a fast-paced dealership

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ASE certification preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a Service Technician.
• ASE Certification is a plus.
• Strong diagnostics and electrical/electronic repair knowledge.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently perform work specified on repair orders in line with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and evaluate components and systems using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, AC, steering, and suspension.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors to explain vehicle needs and provide clear repair estimates.
• Execute warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently perform work specified on repair orders in line with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and evaluate components and systems using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair various automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
• Collaborate closely with Service Advisors to keep customers informed about their vehicle’s needs, providing clear estimates for additional repairs when necessary.
• Execute warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a Service Technician preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ASE Certification is a plus.
• B-level qualifications, including expertise in Diagnostics, Electrical, and Engine Repair.
• Strong dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise repairs.
• Proficient mechanical and troubleshooting skills; experience with electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Positive, friendly demeanor with a genuine eagerness to learn and improve.
• Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
