Anderson Equipment Company in the Northeast seeks a Service Technician to troubleshoot and repair heavy diesel, gas and electric construction equipment across multiple brands and systems.

You will diagnose problems, disassemble and reassemble components, perform welding, document repairs, and maintain safety protocols to ensure reliability on site.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with computers and diagnostic programs provided by manufacturers.
• Ownership of adequate hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot/diagnose equipment problems and perform repair work.
• Maintain and repair heavy diesel, gas and electrically operated construction equipment.
• Disassemble/reassemble equipment, replace defective parts and diagnose issues.
• Prepare parts requisitions and enter into company system.
• Capable of heating, brazing, soldering, burning and minor welding (no certified welding required).
• Document work orders and track repairs in Anderson’s systems; follow safety protocols.

Job Description Summary:

The Service technician will troubleshoot/diagnose equipment problem and perform repair work on a wide variety of equipment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain and repair heavy diesel, gas and electrically operated construction equipment. Repair types can range from complete machine overhauls to minor repairs such as fixing leaks, changing fluids and filters.
• Diagnosing operational difficulties; disassemble and reassemble equipment, replacing defective parts. Diagnostics can include checking pressures, voltage and flow to identify the source(s) of equipment problems.
• Work independently or with senior technicians to rebuild components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic pumps.
• Prepare parts requisitions and enter requisitions into the Company’s computer system.
• Must be capable of performing heating, brazing, soldering, burning and minor welding not requiring certified welding skills.
• Technician will use Anderson’s systems to document work orders, track progress of repairs and order parts. Focus on safety protocols and regulations must be maintained at all times.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two year Technical degree or comparable military training considered a plus;
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance;
• Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of equipment operations, mechanical functions, electrical and hydraulic systems;
• Proficiency with computers and diagnostic programs provided by manufacturers.
• Ownership of adequate hand tools.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Compensation depends on location, experience/skills, overtime: $24.75-$42.00 per hour.
