Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a Service Technical Content Liaison to digest engineering content for internal and external service authors. You will publish service material used in manuals, quick references, bulletins, and curricula.

You will collaborate with engineering and service teams to improve troubleshooting guides and maintain consistency across all PACCAR content. The role requires strong communication, mechanical and electrical aptitude, and experience managing technical documentation and

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Engineering Design reviews to learn about new products and needs.
  • Provide feedback to Engineering from a Service perspective.
  • Liaise between Engineering and Service Technical Authors.
  • Improve troubleshooting guides and time standards for repairs.
  • Ensure documentation adheres to style guidelines and is produced timely.
  • Manage SharePoint content for the Service Platforms team.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives across divisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Summary

The Service Technical Content Liaison will digest engineering content to support internal and external Service Technical Authors in publishing service content for dealer technicians, dealer service training, and customers. Service content is included in service manuals, operator manuals, quick reference guides, service bulletins, and technical training curricula. Content is created with IXIASOFT CMS, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, PTC Creo, and Illustrate, and published on the web, to print, and on truck displays. The goal is to maximize content re-use and consistency across all PACCAR content while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in Engineering Design reviews to learn about new products and identify service literature needs.
  • Provide feedback to Engineering from a Service perspective.
  • Liaise between Engineering and Service Technical Authors.
  • Improve chassis, engine, and aftertreatment troubleshooting guides by identifying gaps for repair procedures and standard repair time development.
  • Ensure product documentation is produced in a timely manner and adheres to PACCAR’s style guidelines and standards.
  • Manage SharePoint content for the Service Platforms team.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives including cross-divisional workshops.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to translate complex engineering concepts for varied audiences.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Strong organizational, schedule management, project planning, and reporting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player.
  • Ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Preferred Skills
  • Project management qualification (PMP, CAPM) or equivalent experience.
  • Previous automotive/dealership hands‑on experience or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, PTC Creo, Illustrate, Tableau, Microsoft Access, Excel, SharePoint, and OneNote.
Education

Degree in Automotive or Diesel Technology, Engineering, Business, or Technical Communications is required.
