Job summary

Watts Steam Store is seeking a Service Technician to join our team, delivering reliable repairs and maintenance of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. You will diagnose issues, refurbish or rebuild equipment, and document work while upholding safety standards.

Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs, work Monday–Friday with occasional travel and overtime as needed. Prior hands-on shop experience and strong customer service are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical repair and maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read hydraulic/electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Customer-focused with good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work safely.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose issues with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and related systems.
• Repair, refurbish, or rebuild equipment to operating condition.
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
• Create and maintain service and repair documentation.
• Uphold Watts safety obligations in all actions.
• Attend training programs for products and services.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with safety manuals.
• Occasionally work overtime and travel as required.

Summary Of Responsibilities

The primary responsibility for the Service Technician is to provide exceptional customer service to Watts Steam Store customers in repairs & maintenance of equipment, refurbishing or rebuilding of equipment and products. The service Technician must always exhibit positive and effective interaction with all Watts customers, associates, and vendors.

Job Duties Include

• Commit and uphold the Watts Steam Store safety commitment in all actions and communications as it applies in our safety manual and procedures.
• Create and maintain accurate service and repair documents for all work to be performed.
• Use and understand all documents, forms, and procedures as they apply.
• Diagnose issues with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pressure washer, waste oil furnaces and compressed air systems.
• Service and repair on-road, off-road mobile equipment, and industrial fluid power systems.
• Refurbish, rebuild, and replace required components to restore equipment to required working order.
• Perform welding and fabrication tasks as the project requires.
• Attend the required training programs on products, services and self-development programs offered by or through Watts Steam Store.
• Maintaining a clean work area for safety and to expedite project completion.
• Able to work overtime and travel if necessary.
• Perform any and all other duties assigned by the management.

Skills/Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge of troubleshooting, repair, and installation. Advanced knowledge of hydraulics, compressed air, pressure washer, waste oil furnaces and mechanical systems preferred.
• Proficient in basic hydraulic plumbing, welding, and mechanical fabrication.
• Ability to read & understand hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Professional, superior customer service skills
• Strongly motivated with an ability to work independently
• High level of integrity and ethical values
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Basic computer skills or ability to learn for record keeping
• Clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis
• Ability to consistently use arms & legs with full range of motion; frequent stooping, bending, squatting & kneeling; exert push & pull forces
