Job summary

TP Mechanical Contractors is seeking an experienced Service Technician to perform daily service work on HVAC heating, cooling, boiler, chiller, and refrigeration systems. The role requires reading blueprints, strong communication, and professional conduct representing the company.

Candidates should have 8–10 years of commercial plumbing/HVAC/refrigeration experience, an HVAC license (KY regions), EPA or Universal license, and relevant chiller/boiler certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot HVAC rooftop units, make up air, boiler, chiller, and control systems; VRF knowledge is a plus.
• Follow up with customers to ensure 100% satisfaction.
• Provide senior technical support to other service techs and answer questions.
• Attend job site/office meetings and be prepared to handle issues.
• Work in emergency situations when needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsible for daily Service work. Service Technician position will work on HVAC heating, cooling, boiler, chiller, and refrigeration systems. Responsible for reading and understand blueprints, effective communication with all others, and representing TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Troubleshoot and solve HVAC rooftop units, make up air, boiler, chiller, and control system problems. VRF system knowledge is a plus.
• Follows up with customers for quality assurance purposes and ensures customers are 100% satisfied.
• Acts as the senior technical support for other Service Techs. Can answer most technical questions and help with almost any issue.
• Attends, if needed, all job site and office meetings related to assigned projects. Is well prepared to handle issues that may come up.
• Dependable and able to work in emergency situations when called.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience/Qualifications Required:

• Minimum of 8-10 years of commercial experience in plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration.
• HVAC license in KY regions only.
• EPA or Universal License.
• HVAC chiller and boiler certifications are a plus.

Job Skills:

• Ability to read blueprints.
• HVAC and refrigeration repair and installation.
• Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
• Able to use all specialty tools including Recovery Machine, Multi Meter, Combustion Analysis.
• Able to install equipment.
• Very strong technical background.
• Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Ability to manage, lead, motivate and discipline.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Education:

• High School or GED Equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

• Eyesight correctable to 20/50.
• Able to work long hours on feet.
• Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds.
• Able to perform shift work.
• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must not be afraid of heights.

Special Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must provide their own basic hand tools.
