Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and minor repairs of rental equipment in a safe and professional manner. You will document work orders and demonstrate equipment to customers.

Responsibilities include assisting with pickup/delivery of equipment and parts, plus contributing to a collaborative service team while pursuing growth into higher level tech roles.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• 1–2 years of repair/maintenance experience or trade school graduate.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Basic understanding of schematics/diagrams.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to lift up to 45 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair rental equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Document work orders accurately and promptly.
• Demonstrate equipment to customers.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Perform other duties as needed.
