Veterans Roofing is seeking a Service Technician to handle repairs and leak calls across South Jersey from Northfield, NJ. You will diagnose the source of water intrusion, decide between repair or replacement, and explain outcomes clearly to homeowners.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in roofing or exterior construction, good diagnostic skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work solo in the field. Bring your own tools and a safety-conscious mindset.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Must not be afraid of heights.

Responsibilities

• Complete service calls in a timely manner.
• Diagnose and repair the actual source of the problem, not just the visible symptom.
• Document every call in CompanyCam — condition found, work performed, condition left.
• Keep call notes and status current in AccuLynx the same day.
• Identify roofs that need full replacement and hand them to sales with photos and notes.
• Carry and maintain stocked inventory so most calls are completed on the first visit.
• Zero recordable safety incidents.

Service Technician

Total Compensation: $25-$38 an hours Location: Northfield, NJ — South Jersey Workplace Setting: Field

Position Summary

The Service Technician handles repairs, leak calls and small exterior work across South Jersey. You are usually alone at the house, you are usually the only person the homeowner will meet, and you are usually there because something is wrong.

This job takes more diagnostic skill than a production crew role. A leak rarely starts where the water shows up. You have to find the actual source, fix it properly, and explain to the homeowner what happened in a way they understand and believe.

It also takes judgment. Some roofs need a repair, some need replacement, and the honest answer is not always the more expensive one. We want a tech who tells the truth about which is which. That reputation is worth more to us than any single invoice.

Competencies

• Diagnoses a leak properly — traces it to the source instead of patching where the water appears

• Works competently across roofing, flashing, siding, gutters and basic carpentry

• Explains a repair to a homeowner clearly and honestly, including when the news is bad

• Works alone and manages a route without supervision

• Knows when a repair is the wrong answer and says so

• Keeps a clean truck and accurate inventory

Education and Experience

• 2+ years of roofing, exterior or general construction repair experience, required

• Diagnostic experience with leaks and water intrusion strongly preferred

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record, required

• Must not be afraid of heights, required

• Demonstrated high performance in some arena — a trade, the military, athletics, anywhere you had to be good at something and were

Physical Requirements

• Climbing ladders and working on roofs at height, often alone

• Lifting and carrying materials and equipment up to 80 pounds

• Kneeling, bending and working in tight spaces including attics and crawl spaces

• Working outdoors in heat, cold, wind and rain — leak calls happen in bad weather

• Driving throughout South Jersey daily

• Occasional emergency or after-hours calls
