Job summary

Altec Industries, Inc. is seeking a Service Center Supervisor to lead a team of technicians, assign work orders, and ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.

You will support process improvements, manage shop operations, and drive a culture aligned with Altec’s values, with travel as needed to support field operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree with industry knowledge a plus.
• Four years of industry-related experience OR equivalent education.
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to read manuals, prints and schematics; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely access to parts and alignment with customer expectations.
• Support inventory control, work order review, and assignment to technicians based on skills and workload.
• Monitor safety, efficiency, and quality; maintain complete repair records.
• Develop product knowledge to support troubleshooting and repair procedures.
• Assess technician training needs and assist with staffing and scheduling.

Basic Qualifications for Supervisor I:

High School Diploma or GED AND

• Four years of industry-related experience OR
• A bachelor’s degree with some industry-related knowledge
• Travel 0 – 25%
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills required
• General PC skills required
• Excellent communication skills required
• Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision
• Current valid Driver’s License may be required

As a Service Center Supervisor, you will lead a team of technicians to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll be responsible for assigning and reviewing work orders, supporting process improvements, managing shop operations, and fostering a collaborative team culture aligned with Altec’s values.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with third-party vendors and internal support teams (e.g., parts, engineering) to ensure timely access to materials and alignment with customer expectations.
• Support inventory control, work order review, and assignment to technicians based on skills and workload; ensure accurate cost tracking and documentation.
• Monitor and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with customer requirements, including legible and complete repair records.
• Develop and maintain product knowledge to support technicians in troubleshooting and repair procedures.
• Assess and address technician training needs to support job performance and career development.
• Assist with staffing processes, including technician scheduling and identifying hiring needs to meet operational demand.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
