• 2 year technical degree with emphasis on diesel engine or earthmoving repair.
• 3-7 years of heavy duty or diesel engine service experience, with 5+ years in supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and other business software.

Responsibilities

• Reviews customer requests for service to determine cause, type of malfunction, and location.
• Plans staff hours, personnel, parts and equipment for service calls.
• Prepares schedules for service personnel and assigns routes based on expertise.
• Arranges transportation for machines to or from customer locations for repairs.
• Reviews hours, parts used, and work performed for each service call.
• Monitors safety, investigates incidents, and documents findings.
• Maintains operational records and communicates repair status to customers.
• Prepares and presents service repair estimates.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Service Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of service repairs performed on internal and external equipment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews customer request for service to ascertain cause for service request, type of malfunction and customer address.
• Determines staff hours, number of personnel, parts, and equipment required for service call, utilizing knowledge of product, typical malfunctions, and service procedures and practices.
• Prepares schedules for service personnel, assigns personnel to routes or to specific repair and maintenance working according to workers knowledge, experience, and repair capabilities on specific types of products.
• Arranges for transportation of machines and equipment to customer’s location for repairs or from customer’s location to shop for repairs that cannot be performed on premises. Finalizes Invoicing.
• Review of work hours and parts utilized and work performed for each service call. Requisition replacement parts and supplies.
• Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies. Monitor employees’ work levels and review work performance.
• Patrol and monitor work areas and examine tools and equipment in order to detect unsafe conditions or violations of procedures or safety rules. Investigate accidents and injuries, prepare reports of findings.
• Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and productions records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
• Communicate with customer regarding repair status and possible charges to be made on the machine during the repair process. Prepare and present service repair estimates.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2 year Technical Degree with emphasis on Diesel Engine or Earthmoving Repair is required
• 3-7 years of heavy duty or diesel engine service experience5 plus years in supervision, preferably supervising technicians
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business software applications
