Job summary

Petro 49, Inc. is seeking a Service Station Part-time Maintenance Tech in Kodiak, Alaska. You will perform general maintenance, grounds-keeping, painting and basic carpentry to keep the Petro Express building and equipment in good repair.

Responsibilities include painting, fabricating counters, landscaping, snow removal, and thorough cleaning of facilities. Must have basic construction knowledge and be able to operate hand tools and snow plow safely.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of materials and methods involved in the construction or repair of buildings.
• Ability to safely operate snow plow and landscaping tools for yard maintenance, as well as cleaning apparatus and chemicals for cleaning tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when maintenance is needed.

Responsibilities

• Paint windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
• Fabricate or repair counters, benches, partitions, or other wooden structures, such as sheds or outbuildings.
• Provide grounds keeping services, such as landscaping and snow removal.
• Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties.
• Perform cleaning of carwashes (pit).

Service Station Part-time Maintenance Tech

Perform work involving general maintenance and grounds-keeping skills to keep mechanical equipment and the building structure of the Kodiak Petro Express in good repair. Duties may involve painting, basic carpentry for building repair; routine maintenance of mechanical equipment; cleaning, landscaping upkeep and snow removal.

Skills

Basic Construction: Knowledge of materials and methods involved in the construction or repair of buildings.

Use of Tools: Knowledge of hand tools and how to use them to perform basic carpentry and painting projects to keep building structure in good repair. Ability to safely operate snow plow and landscaping tools for yard maintenance, as well as cleaning apparatus and chemicals for cleaning tasks.

Equipment Maintenance -- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.Complex Problem Solving -- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Abilities Needed

Near Vision -- The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

Physical Ability – The physical ability to use hand tools and operate equipment as listed above. Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.; ability to bend, squat, stand, walk, reach at various heights.
