Job summary

The Hollister Group is seeking a Deposit Services Support Specialist for a leading financial institution in the Greater Boston area. You will ensure timely, accurate processing of deposit operations and support a fast-paced team while upholding compliance and risk controls.

Responsibilities include updating account details, handling stop payments, assisting with tax levies, maintaining retirement system data, and guiding branch teams on distributions and complex inquiries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; relevant work experience preferred.
• At least 2 years in Banking Operations or Deposit Services, excluding retail banking.
• Strong knowledge of deposit regulations, legal processing, and tax levies.
• Experience with high-risk, regulatory, or legal operations under review.
• Familiarity with FIS Contact Center SRM and CMSE databases (training provided).
• Excellent communication skills; professional and personable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and detail-oriented abilities.
• Basic math skills including interest calculations and account balancing.
• Ability to interpret complex documents, write reports, and instruct others.

Compensation

$30.00/hr - $37.00/hr, based on experience, potential contract to hire

Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance tasks on deposit accounts, including updating titles, addresses, and rates, ensuring all changes are precise and properly documented.
• Oversee signed Stop Payment notices in compliance with UCC guidelines to prevent fraud and mitigate risk.
• Support the processing of tax levies, legal summons, and related queries, conducting thorough research and resolution of outstanding issues.
• Assist in the upkeep of the Retirement Database by daily downloads, reviewing reports, and verifying data accuracy for contributions, distributions, and corrections.
• Collaborate with branch teams to gather missing or incomplete retirement documentation and guide on complex customer inquiries regarding account distributions, including death claims.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of banking rules, regulations, and internal policies by completing all required training modules.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; relevant work experience highly preferred.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Banking Operations or Deposit Services, with specific expertise outside of retail banking.
• Strong working knowledge of deposit regulations, legal processing, and tax levies.
• Exposure to high-risk, regulatory, or legal operational tasks under review.
• Familiarity with FIS Contact Center SRM and CMSE databases (training provided if needed).
• Excellent communication skills—clear, professional, and personable in all interactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Basic mathematical skills including interest calculations, account balancing, and error detection.
• Ability to interpret complex documents, write reports, and instruct colleagues or clients effectively.
