Job description

Job Purpose

Assist in various phases of operation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of construction and mining equipment systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Support senior Service Technicians as needed and observe closely to gain knowledge. This role is an OJT (On-the-Job Training) position working as a Service Technician - Class C.

Responsibilities

• Assist in shop and field repairs
• Complete service reports, time cards, and other paperwork clearly and accurately
• Support senior Technicians and learn through observation
• Ensure all assigned jobs are completed safely and proficiently
• Clean the work area after each job
• Participate in service schools and training programs offered by the company
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Mechanical aptitude

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of the role and its relation to overall business objectives
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing as per Department of Transportation requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and bend and twist frequently
• Effective operation of test equipment and troubleshooting skills

Working Conditions

• Typical hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Weekend work as necessary
• Potential work in inclement weather and hazardous environments
