Job Description

Responsible for assisting with operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems, including packaging and handling machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop and grounds equipment, and HVAC systems.
  2. Cleaning, lubricating, and servicing a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices.
  3. Assisting with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
  4. Replacing and repairing building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and performing painting on walls, piping, floors, and equipment.
  5. Troubleshooting, evaluating, and recommending upgrades to maintenance operations or identifying savings opportunities.
  6. Possessing competent knowledge of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance.
  7. Responding promptly to emergency situations and customer service requests.
  8. Inspecting buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and preventive maintenance.
  9. Maintaining and operating fire and life safety systems, including fire alarm systems and fire pumps.
  10. Performing carpentry and snow removal as needed.
  11. Complying with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and practicing safe work habits.
  12. Using technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, and building automation systems.
  13. Completing all required training annually.
  14. Maintaining a neat and professional appearance in accordance with the C&W Uniform Dress Code, even outside of working hours.

Key competencies include technical proficiency, initiative, flexibility, multitasking, and a sense of urgency. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with at least 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting.

Additional qualifications include technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in areas such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair. Valid driver's license and good driving record are required, along with basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Work may involve extended periods without relief, shift work, and on-call duties. The work environment is primarily a professional office setting with standard office equipment. Physical demands include communication, operating office machinery, moving around the workplace, and physical exertion as needed.
