Job description

Vander Haag's is looking for a Service Shop Manager to lead our diesel service operation in Spencer, Iowa. We're looking for someone who can run a business, lead a team, take care of customers and drive results — while still being comfortable walking onto a shop floor and talking with technicians.

You'll be responsible for the overall performance of the Service Department, including:

• Leading, coaching and developing our team of diesel technicians
• Managing workflow, staffing and shop productivity
• Building strong relationships with customers
• Driving quality, efficiency and profitability
• Recruiting and developing great people
• Working closely with Parts, Sales and other Vander Haag's departments and locations
• Creating a shop culture where people are accountable to each other and proud of the work they do

Who are we looking for?

You might already be a Service Manager. But you could also be a Shop Foreman, Fleet Maintenance Manager, Lead Technician, Service Advisor or operations leader who's ready for something bigger.

We need someone who understands the heavy-duty world well enough to earn the respect of experienced technicians. But just as important, we need someone who understands people and business.

Hours: Day shift hours, Monday through Friday. Hours are generally 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. No evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call hours required!

Compensation: This position pays a base wage + semiannual bonus. Total compensation (base + bonus) will range from $90,000 to $105,000/year. Compensation will be dependent upon experience level and qualifications.
