Job summary

Vander Haag’s Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our Service Department. The role focuses on heavy-duty truck repair, diagnostics and overhauls, with emphasis on engines, drivetrains, electrical and hydraulic systems. ASE certification is preferred but not required. Day shifts, overtime available, no travel required, and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• ASE certification preferred but not required.
• Diesel mechanic with ability to diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks.
• Experience with electrical and hydraulic systems helpful.
• Fabrication skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform all types of medium and heavy-duty truck repairs.
• Conduct engine diagnostics and overhauls.
• Work on drivetrain and electrical systems.
• Perform DOT inspections and PM maintenance.
• Handle hydraulic systems and basic fabrication.

Job description

Vander Haag’s has a great opportunity for a Diesel Mechanicto join our team the growing Service Department at our location in Columbus, OH.

ASE Certification is preferred, but not required.

Vander Haag’s offers:

• Hourly base pay that reflects your experience in the industry.
• Efficiency bonus (paid monthly) in addition to your hourly rate.

• Work in a clean, well-lit, air conditioned shop, complete with overhead hoists and shop equipment. The shop was built brand new in 2023.
• All of our repair work is done in the shop. No travel or roadside repairs are required in this role.

General duties include:

• All types of medium and heavy duty truck repair
• Engine diagnostics and overhauls
• Drivetrain
• Electrical
• DOT inspections
• PM maintenance
• Hydraulic systems
• Fabrication

Hours:

Day shift hours, Monday through Friday. Consistent schedule & overtime. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required!

Compensation:

This position pays an hourly base compensation + overtime. Hourly rate will range from $25.00 - $40.00 /hour. Hourly rate is dependent upon experience and qualifications (e.g., ASE Certifications, etc.).
