Service Sales Engineer - Northeast

Mission/Purpose of the Job:

In this position, you will collaborate with applications engineers, product engineers, and account managers to design and offer Leybold services and solutions that help clients optimize their process efficiencies. You will act as the service sales liaison between the Leybold factory and the client, teaching companies how to maximize equipment lifecycle through the VTS Service Ladder.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work both from home and on-site at advanced factories to demonstrate how to maximize equipment lifespan by promoting the VTS Service Ladder.
  • Promote company service products by understanding failure modes and offering service options that reduce downtime and failures, focusing on various markets including metallurgy, energy, aerospace, automotive, and more.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow business in your region, including current clients and new opportunities.
  • Provide excellent technical support and service to customers.
  • Maintain company property and equipment.
  • Sell Leybold Service Product range and collaborate with the sales team to secure repeat orders and new business.
  • Prepare and deliver service sales presentations.
  • Focus on developing new business from customers with unserviced or outdated equipment.
  • Analyze customer needs and coordinate with internal teams to provide comprehensive service solutions.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This role involves working near mechanical parts, outdoor conditions, fumes, chemicals, and potential hazards. It requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of pumps up to 50 pounds. The position is 100% remote with travel up to 50%, often overnight.

Interaction skills, external/internal factors, and budget responsibilities are integral to this role.

Skills/Knowledge/Education:
  • Engineering/science degree or technical equivalent.
  • Proven lead generation skills and customer-facing experience.
  • Excellent communication and technical knowledge.
  • Ability to develop tailored solutions and work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
Other Requirements / Desired Characteristics:
  • Prospecting and sales mentality.
  • Background in operational or rotating equipment sales.
  • High energy, curiosity, and quick learner.
  • Military veterans encouraged to apply.
  • Mechanical systems knowledge is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
