Job summary

Willis Automotive in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a full-time Service Drive/Detail team member to maintain vehicle cleanliness and support service operations. You will assist technicians, move vehicles through the service process, and ensure a neat, welcoming service drive.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of customer service experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driving record. Basic computer skills and knowledge of manual transmissions are a plus; Saturday availability may be

Responsibilities

• Wash customer and Willis vehicles.
• Operate vehicles safely, professionally, and courteously.
• Follow procedures to clean vehicles with hand tools.
• Assist customers with delivering and fueling vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of Service Drive and shop floors.
• Meet and greet customers on Service Drive.
• Assist in checkout and inspection of loaner vehicles.
• Keep service drive clear of debris.

Primary Function:

This position is responsible for maintaining visual and cleanliness standards in service customer vehicles and the service and detail departments. This position assists the Technicians with moving vehicles through the service process. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, and policies of Willis Automotive.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Washing customer and Willis vehicles
• Operate all vehicles in a safe, professional and courteous manner
• Follow documented procedures to clean vehicles using recommended hand tools
• Assist customers in delivering and fueling vehicles, entry into locked vehicles, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness of Service Drive; clean shop floors for service and detail departments as needed
• Meet and Greet customers on Service Drive
• Assist in checking out and checking of loaner vehicles.
• Keep service drive clear of debris

What we need from you:

• 1 year of customer service experience
• High School Diploma/equivalent preferred
• Acceptable driving record per insurance carrier
• Able to work a flexible schedule to meet needs of service and dispatch areas, including occasional Saturdays
• Basic computer skills
• Working knowledge of operating manual and standard transmissions
