Job summary

JTM Construction, Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Service Project Engineer to support the Service Department in coordinating multiple small projects. This full-time exempt role reports to the Service Manager and is based in our Georgetown office.

Salary range is $85,000 - $115,000 with a 3%-10% bonus target of base earnings. Responsibilities include bid support, scheduling subcontractors, billing, documentation, and client communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience with a commercial general contractor, service work, tenant improvements and fast-turn projects.
  • Hands-on construction field experience is a bonus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
  • Positive attitude and leadership skills with willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with service bid and agreements, project setup, billing, and closeout.
  • Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, vendors, and internal field staff to keep work moving.
  • Help resolve day-to-day issues quickly.
  • Manage project documentation and support billing readiness.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, tenants, property managers, vendors.
  • Coordinate service calls, warranty work, and small projects with clients.
  • Serve as the primary contact for service-related communication and status updates.
  • Create, manage, and track work orders and service tickets for timely closeout.

Job Description

The Service Project Engineer (PE) provides critical support to JTM Constructions, Service Department. The role focuses on project coordination, scheduling support, subcontractor communication, and cost tracking for fast‑paced service projects. The Service PE is an ideal role for those who have experience in the construction industry, thrive in a fast‑paced environment, can manage frequent interruptions, and is highly organized to successfully coordinate many smaller projects simultaneously. The Service Project Engineer works under the direct supervision of the Service Manager and is a full‑time, exempt role located in JTM’s offices in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle.

The full salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000, depending on direct professional experience and qualifications. The bonus target for this role is 3%-10% of annual base earnings.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and track work orders, service tickets, and job documents to ensure accurate records and timely closeout.
  • Process and coordinate approved work, including ordering equipment, applicable permits, parts, and materials, and communicating with dispatch.
  • Communicate service issues, escalations or delays to the Service Manager.
  • Support billing readiness by ensuring service documentation, tickets, and approvals are complete and accurate.
  • Support material procurement.
  • Participate in overall project safety.
  • Assist with warranty tracking and follow up as required.
  • Proactively manage customer relationships to foster additional work.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience working for a commercial general contractor with exposure to service work, tenant improvements and fast‑turn projects desired

  • Knowledge of P6, Vista, Autodesk, PlanGrid, and BlueBeam preferred
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Leadership skills with a willingness to lead by example
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License with the ability to provide proof of a clean driving record
  • Able to pass a pre‑employment drug screening and a criminal background check

  • Must be able to work in cold environments and on concrete floors. Will occasionally work in outdoor weather
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office.
